The CDC funded a cooperative agreement program for Strengthening HIV Counselor Training in the Republic of Uganda. This program addresses the “Healthy People 2010” focus area(s) HIV.

The overall aim of this program is to: 

(1) Improve the capacity of HIV counselor training providers in Uganda to meet expanding need for counselors; 

(2) to develop new messages adapted to complex HIV issues and strategies; and 

(3) to ensure the quality of training.
