This project will produce issue briefs on social factors that affect health, building on the issue briefs that the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), created for the Commission to Build a Healthier America (CBHA). These new briefs will cover topics identified during UCSF's CBHA-related work. They include: (1) social factors that shape individuals' health-related behaviors; (2) income/wealth and health; (3) stress and health; (4) transportation and health; and (5) violence and health. Foundation staff will disseminate the briefs through the Foundation's Web site, content alerts and direct outreach to other networks addressing the social determinants of health.
