Description
The next phase in our collaborative effort to radically advance the field of translation in environmental health is a 3-pronged strategy to:
- Apply the Navigation Guide to multiple chemicals to establish proof of concept;
- Advance uptake of the Navigation Guide to key decision-makers through outreach, education, and dissemination. Notably, it is an opportune time to accelerate the uptake of the Navigation Guide, as its publication coincides with growing pressure on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to incorporate systematic approaches; and
- Conduct research to advance knowledge of several factors that are assessed in the application of the Navigation Guide, i.e. the influence of for-profit funding on the evidence stream, the availability of safer alternatives, and identification of patient and community values and preferences.
