This prospective multi-center observational study will enroll patients with open tibial shaft fractures across multiple centers in Latin America as part of the Asociación de Cirujanos Traumatólogos de las Americas (ACTUAR). The objective is to identify predictors of major complications such as deep infection, osteomyelitis, and re-operation from open tibial shaft fractures.

Currently, ACTUAR has members from seventeen countries across Latin America, including many of the best-recognized academic surgeons.
