Description
Previous studies have characterized geographic clusters of esophageal cancer (EC) in East Africa. A unique feature in East Africa is the high proportion of young patients, with a recent case series reporting up to 24% of patients age < 45 years. The aim of the current study was to assess factors that are associated with early-onset EC, and the strategies and resources available.
