Clinical and operational research on malaria diagnostic strategies and management of febrile patients in malaria-endemic areas. Primarily in Uganda, with collaborative research in other African and South-east Asian countries. Current work includes synthesis of research results from studies of malaria rapid diagnostic test implementation in various endemic settings, and a collaborative non-malaria febrile illness (NMFI) mapping project, all with the ACT Consortium based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Previous affiliations include the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) in Uganda and Switzerland, and the Makerere University – University of California, San Francisco malaria research collaboration in Uganda.
