I have run the IMPACT program (International Medical Program for AIDS Clinical Training) for almost 20 years, bringing more than 200 Japanese doctors, dentists and pharmacists to UCSF for a 2 week program designed to increase their knowledge and skills about HIV/AIDS clinical care as well as the social context of that care, community support, epidemiology and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
