Clinical medical / translational research opportunities in Fiji:  We are working in sexually transmitted infection clinics in the country to determine the incidence and prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae infections and risk factors for transmission of these infections in collaboration with the Fiji Ministry of Health. We are comparing a novel point-of-care diagnostic (under development) with a commercial NAAT diagnostic for these two pathogens. Other projects are related to chlamydial pathogenesis.
