Description

Bacillary angiomatosis is a relatively uncommon emergent infectious disease, caused by two species of Gram negative bacilli: Bartonella (Rochalimaea) henselae and Bartonella (Rochalimaea) quintana. It can be mistaken for Kaposis Sarcoma, another opportunitic infection.
