Location(s): United States
Description
iCORES is exploring clinical trials for patients with above knee and/or above elbow amputations who may be candidates for the use of osseointegration technology to improve rehabilitation potential.Co-Director of iCORES, the international Center for Osseointegration Research, Education, and Surgery. Our goal is to improve the care and rehabilitation of amputees worldwide. Together with our new Faculty member, Rickard Brånemark, MD, we will be coordinating a multi-center study of bone-anchored transdermal prosthesis for the rehabilitation of amputees, based upon the experience at the 12 global centers that he has already established. We look to build upon the foundation that has been laid by the Global Health Sciences Program, and, within our Department, by IGOT, the Institute for Global Orthopaedics & Traumatology.
