Diagnosis and treatment of infectious keratitis, a leading cause of visual disability and blindness worldwide. The standard of care remains slit-lamp evaluation, scrapings for gram stain and culture where indicated, and treatment with antibacterial eyedrops. Our research group in the Proctor Foundation is actively conducting numerous NIH sponsored clinical trials in India and Nepal investigating improved treatment strategies for infectious keratitis.
