Description

I have worked with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as Senior Advisor in Vaccinology, as an advisor to WHO (helping WHO establish its Initiative for Vaccine Research, etc.), Executive Vice Chair of the International Vaccine Institute established by the UNDP in Seoul, Korea, and numerous international NGOs and consortia (e.g., board member, European Developing Countries Clinical Trial Partnership; SAB, Jenner Institute, Europrise, AVIP) working on vaccines for HIV, TB, malaria. I am an advisor for Jay Levy’s California Antiviral Foundation, and my group at the Karolinska Institutet, where I am a Foreign Adjunct Professor, is doing trials in Tanzania for an HIV vaccine based upon technology my lab (at Merck) pioneered.
