Participated as a faculty member in the development of the first emergency medicine training program in Tanzania, as both a bedside teacher, and in developing research projects and providing faculty development support. Although in this setting I was given the role of a teacher, I also found that I learned many lessons that could be applied to my clinical work in the US.
