Preparing Vietnam for Malaria Elimination
Location(s): Viet Nam
Support the Vietnam National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE) to accelerate progress toward achieving Vietnam’s national goal of malaria elimination. The project is directed towards:
1) Improving malaria intelligence (surveillance and data analysis/usage) in two districts (Quang Tri and Phu Yen).
2) Generating evidence to support informed decision‐making about both the use of existing control tools, and novel strategies to achieve and maintain malaria elimination in Vietnam.
3) Aligning and refining spatially‐targeted elimination strategies that can be scaled in Vietnam.
These project components will be examined through a diverse set of project activities, including retrospective data collection, use of spatial‐decision support systems, and a range of field surveys to determine high‐risk groups.
