PRONTO International developed an intervention using low-cost, high-fidelity simulation training to improve provider knowledge of how to early identify and treat obstetrical emergencies, in a kind and respectful manner, in low-to-middle income countries. Our study, the first of its kind in Africa, assessed provider perceptions of the barriers to providing quality maternal case as well as perceptions of simulation-based education training models to improve emergency obstetrical care in Northern Ghana.
