The Magnelle is a synthetic structure within a cell that has a magnetic quality that can be non-invasively tracked with magnetic resonance imaging, and controlled and selectively destroyed with magnets. The cells can also self-replicate. Those properties could be useful for scientists working in oncology, regenerative medicine and other cell-based fields.
