There is an urgent need for implementation research to optimize the delivery of existing interventions to save lives, prevent and treat illness, and maximize the impact of health expenditures. The Implementation Research Platform (IRP) is dedicated to fulfilling this need and tackling the challenges of implementing existing and new research findings in real-world settings.
The IRP aims to make progress towards MDGs 4, 5 and 6 through three objectives:
- Supporting the generation and use of country-led implementation research to derive lessons on best ways of scaling up interventions
- Facilitating the use of evidence in decision-making related to scale-up processes
- Strengthening the capacity to conduct implementation research
