Description

The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of isavuconazole in the treatment of invasive fungal infections that are caused by Aspergillus (in renally impaired patients)and rare fungi. Acute invasive fungal infections caused by aspergillus, rare moulds, yeasts or dimorphic fungi are life threatening diseases. Early treatment with highly effective anti-fungals reduces mortality. Isavuconazole is not approved for the treatment of fungal infections. This study investigates the safety and efficacy of isavuconazole in patients with aspergillosis and renal impairment, and in patients suffering from invasive infections from rare fungi.
