Description

How neutrophils convert changes in membrane tension to changes in intracellular signaling during chemotaxis. This in an interdisciplinary project between the Weiner lab (optogenetics and neutrophil signaling) and the Fletcher lab (measurement and manipulation of forces in vivo and in vitro). Taking advantage of advanced microscopy techniques in conjunction with techniques to rewire cell signaling or to activate and inhibit signaling on a subcellular level. We aim to move beyond a parts list of components involved in migration to a systems level understanding of cell polarity.
