Description

The Bertelsmann Stiftung established the International Network for Health Policy and Reform to search for solutions for reforming the German healthcare system that are sustainable, affordable and politically feasible. From 2003 till 2010 the network examined innovative approaches, good practices and current and past efforts in 20 industrialized countries to determine whether they can be transferred to the German healthcare system. The goal was to make a meaningful contribution to the healthcare policy debate in Germany.

In 2011 the International Network Health Policy & Reform merged with the National Lead Institutions (NLI) Network under the auspices of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
